Purpose: Pulling video footage from site security Cameras |
Things you need: Meraki account for Camera viewing and permissions for exporting |
- Login to Meraki
- If you haven’t already, please set up 2-Factor Authentication for additional security. Otherwise, enter your Verification Code (NOTE: Ask IT if unsure)
-
- NOTE: If you lose the device that receives/generates the 2FA codes, these (8) codes will allow you to login without the device and update the 2FA method. It's important that staff with camera access save these codes to access their account in the event they lose the 2FA device. Navigator's IT Dept will not be able to unlock your account in the event you lose both the codes and device!
- Enter Verification code
- You may be taken to the “Video Wall” showing all the cameras for a given wall.
- Take note of the Camera name you want to export footage from
- I.e. “GPS OFFICE - PLAYGROUND”, “HPS RM A - BACK OF GYM” etc
- Navigate to Camera > Monitor > Cameras
- Select the Camera you wish to export footage from.
- Once the camera has been selected, you will see a “Share” button on the top right of the video feed
- Click “Share” then click “Export”
- The page will now provide editing tools for exporting
- Note: the more footage you wish to export, the more time it will take to process and will take up additional space on your computer. Please plan accordingly where you plan to place the footage in question after exporting.
- Set the time you wish to pull from the video export.
- Use the brackets on the timeline to search for the desired footage
- OR use the top section to manually enter the date and times for the export
I.e
- Once you have confirmed your times and dates, click on “Export”.
- A box will appear below showing the statues of the video being exported.
- NOTE: You can also find pending/completed exports on Cameras > Monitor > Export for a similar view
- The status will eventually change from “Pending” to “Completed”.
- Once completed you can access the exported footage by clicking on “save…” and a box will appear with options for acquiring the download.
- OR navigate to Cameras > Monitor > Export click on the completed export and the same box will appear
- You can download the file as an MP4.
- You could also link the footage to another party for them to download, but be aware of the expiration date for the link provided in the notes above.
Note from IT
- The export options will be slightly different when accessing a camera from the Video Wall versus the Camera list.
- Export options when accessing through Video Wall (Camera > Monitor > Video Wall)
- Versus export options when accessing through Camera list (Camera > Monitor > Cameras)
